SUPPLY LIST FOR PAPER PIECING CLASS

African Violet Star
(This is a Stained Glass Block)

Fabric Requirements:
Yellow scrap for center of flower
1/8 yard light color for inner flower petal
1/4 yard matching darker color for large flower petal
1/4 yard of background fabric
1/4 yard of black for leading

Cut these items at home:
4 pieces - 2 x 2 inches for center of flower
4 pieces - 3 x 3 inches for inner petal
4 pieces - 8 inch square, then cut diagonally (8 triangles)
8 pieces - 3 x 4 inches for background and
8 pieces - 3 x 8 inches for background
4 strips - 1 1/2 inches by WOF (width of fabric)

Bring these items to class:
small cutting mat
sharp scissors and/or small rotary cutter
pins
wooden "iron" or pressing tool of choice
Add-A-Quarter ruler or small ruler that has the 1/4 inch mark
colored pencil
seam ripper
glue stick or temp spray
open toe foot or one that you can see the lines clearly
universal needle, full bobbin with matching thread

This block is made in four sections, then sewn together.
The above fabrics are enough to make one block.
