Calendar for 2008

December 25: Christmas - no meeting

December 11: Annual Christmas Potluck at Sandy's house.
Bring a covered dish, a $10 donation and nonperishable food items for Lamb House or another shelter serving children and/or families.

November 27: Thanksgiving - no meeting

November 13: Workshop: Demonstrations on Hidden Binding by Sharon, 3-D Bow Tie Block by Jeanette, Seamless Pillowcase by Diana, and members can bring various demos or examples of Quilt Labels - machine embroidered, printed by hand or printer.
-- Supplies for the Bow Tie Block: For each 7" block you will need 2 fat quarters - 1 light and 1 dark color. Cut (3) 4" squares from dark color and cut (2) 4" squares from light color.

October 23: We will meet for a business meeting in the little white house at the entrance to the Methodist Church parking lot. It is called the Chrysalis House - the church has their Bazaar this week. We will discuss topics for 2009 workshops.

October 9 - 11: Shop Hop - Some are going on Thursday, the 9th and some on Friday, the 10th. If you are interested in carpooling, please contact a guild member in your area.

September 25: We will deliver Charity Quilts to Windsor Nursing Home in Camdenton.
Update: We delivered about 50 lap quilts to Windsor Nursing Home - they will be used as Christmas presents for the residents.

September 19: Springfield Quilt Show -- car pools have been set up for Friday - some will meet at the Camdenton United Methodist Church parking lot in the morning. We will all meet up in the main lobby entrance of the Expo Center at 12:30 to decide where to have lunch.

September 11: Business Meeting - New Officers will be installed.
And don't forget...Dues are due! (Dues - $16)

August 28: We will have a demonstration of Jeannie's quick and easy 9-patch and Sharon will show us how to make a Lumpless Binding.
ALSO - we will work on Charity Quilts, so bring your sewing machine, a bag lunch, and any Charity quilt tops you may still have at home and we will sandwich, sew, and tie them. Backing and batting will be provided.
And remember...Quilting with a friend will keep you in stitches.

August 14: Business Meeting

July 24: Grandmother's Dream Class taught by Diana. Please contact Diana before the class for information on fabric choices and cutting instructions. Bring your sewing machine, cutting board, tools, etc. and a sack lunch.

July 10: Business Meeting will be held in the small house at the entrance to the Methodist Church parking lot. It is called the Chrysalis House - Vacation Bible School is using the big building this week.

June 26: Judy Laquidara Trunk Show - 10 am to 2 pm. This seminar will be held at the Community Christian Church, 1064 N. Hwy 5 next to Casey's.
Update: Judy Laquidara's Trunk Show proved to be very informative and entertaining. We had 25 attendees, including some Dragon Thread and Ozark Hills Quilt Guild members.

June 12: We all will attend the Shop Hop instead of having our usual business meeting. All carpools will meet in Mexico, MO at the Sticky Wicket, 104 N. Jefferson St. at 9:30 am.

May 22: Workshop - Judi will lead a class on making a quilt using Jellyrolls - assorted patterns will be available. Bring your sewing machines and any tools you might need. Don't forget those seam rippers.:-)

May 8: Mother's Day Tea - we will vote on our Dogwood Challenge projects so don't forget to bring yours along with your Finger Foods and a tea cup.
Update: The Tea was lovely! Kudos to the committee - the table decorations were outstanding.

April 24: No Workshop - We will have lunch at The Little House of Hers on KK at 11:15 am to discuss the Quilt Show. Please bring any comments, suggestions, changes, additions, etc. on paper.

April 19: Quilt Show

April 18: Setup for Quilt Show - 10 am - bring your Challenge projects!

April 11, 12: It's A Gatherin' - Big quilt extravaganza in the Stover Community Building in Stover, Mo. Friday 3 to 7 pm & Saturday 9 am to 4 pm.

February 28: Business Meeting and workshop - bring your lunch and sewing machines, etc.

January 24: Business meeting and workshop - We discussed the Quilt Show and pieced together charity quilt kits that Diana made up for us. We will continue with this project next month.
(We meet on the 4th Thursday only in January and February)
